Lidsdale House

By IM, April 6, 2015

Lidsdale House was the big house owned by the Neubecks on the hill above Blackmans Flat where I lived with my grandmother. The Neubecks owned several mines and began open cut mining in the district. The whole area was surrounded by open cut mines, slag heaps and polluted creeks. I loved it. But each day I would see this entrance from the school bus, the first hint I had that there was another world of wealth and beauty.

What do you think?
